Britney's Fall From Grace Makes the Cover of Rolling Stone

A couple of months ago, there were rumors swirling that Britney may be on the cover of Rolling Stone again, and the issue officially hits newsstands this week. The article has more stories about Britney's dizzying downward spiral, including a mall visit gone bad, plastic surgery rumors, and juicy details on her relationship with Justin. So far, the magazine has only released a teaser excerpt, which is just another upsetting story about an outburst Britney had while trying on clothes at Betsey Johnson. Here's more:

. . . she ducks into the dressing room with Ghalib. He emerges with her black Am Ex. The card won't go through, but they keep trying it. "Please," begs Ghalib, "get this done quickly." One of the girls runs to Britney's dressing room, explaining the situation through a pink gauze curtain.

A Shockey development?

You can't just go to the Super Bowl and then relax," he said. "We're working harder than ever because we want to be in this situation every year."

To market, to market: Samuel in prime spot among free agent cornerbacks

While the picture could be altered over the next 2-3 weeks as teams assign franchise tags, reach extensions with would-be free agents, or cut players, here is a snapshot look at how the unrestricted free agent market is shaping up at each position:

QUARTERBACK: Teams looking for a solid backup who could challenge for the top job will find help, as Todd Collins (Redskins), Daunte Culpepper (Raiders), Rex Grossman (Bears), and Billy Volek (Chargers) are set to hit the market.

RUNNING BACK: Michael Turner (Chargers), who drew interest as a restricted free agent last offseason, is the headliner of a strong crop that also includes Jamal Lewis (Browns), Chris Brown (Titans), Justin Fargas (Raiders), Ron Dayne (Texans), and Mewelde Moore (Vikings).

Sicknote crackdown will hit 30,000 in Hampshire

A Government crackdown on benefits will hit more than 30,000 claimants acorss Hampshire, it has been revealed.

From October next year individuals applying for incapacity benefits will be asked to undertake a new test to establish what they are capable of doing, rather than simply having their disabilities measured, Work and Pensions Secretary Peter Hain said yesterday.

The new regime, which will initially cover only new claimants, will eventually be imposed on all those receiving incapacity support.

As of May this year there were more than 30,000 such people in south west Hampshire - including nearly 10,000 in Southampton.

The harder test will assess claimants' abilities to perform certain work-related tasks, such as using a computer keyboard and mouse.

NCAA College Football

You wanna know where I see him everytime? On the basketball court. The kid, being about as mature as you can be at his age. He is probably a 2nd grader, and he walks around town as if he was 15. Something is noticable though everytime I see him. First of all, I have yet to ever see his parents. Secondly, he doesen't seem to be the most lucky kid when it comes to who has the money and who doesen't. Living in a poor family as a kid, I know how that can be. But, everytime I see him around the court, he doesen't normally say a word to me but he will give me a little head nod. Of course, I will give one back and he will continue to watch me on the court. However, he once told me that I am his favorite basketball player and that really felt great to me. So, being that it was after practice the other day and no one was around, I decided to play a little basketball with him.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Joel Ortiz Off Aftermath? Is Bow Wow Crazy? Amy ...

Wow Bow doesn't have to do this. He doesn't. He can still make his name Bow Wow again. The rumor is that he got pissed off at Chris Brown and spit on his R&B counterpart. That's word to Omarion! Anyway apparently at a show in Dallas, Wow Bow ended his set off and accused Brown of messing up his set. How? I'm not sure how. Chris Brown is the headliner of the show, but I don't know what he did. Anyway, Wow Bow had to be restrained and out came the spit. I know this is only a rumor, but I have to ask: IS WOW BOW CRAZY?

Now that I got a good laugh out of that, you should know that Wow Bow has stated on the record that this never happened. Chris Brown hasn't issued any denial.

OBAMA HAS A SHOT!

OK, I know one doesn't have anything to do with the other, but I thought I would say this anyway.

Bill Gates' keynote address at the Consumer Electronics Show 2008 revealed a rather startling statistic with regards to the sales and acceptance performance of Windows Vista.

Gates told the audience that Windows Vista has sold more than 100 million copies since the operating system's launch in January 2007. When comparing pure numbers against Windows XP, which sold only 89 million copies in its first year, Windows Vista appears to be a hit – but looking at the big picture sheds a different sort of light on the matter.

With the PC market at nearly twice the size today as it was in 2001, InformationWeek surmises that Windows Vista captured around 39 percent of the new PC market in its first year, while Windows XP managed to grab 67 percent of the new PC market during its initial period.
