A look at Detroit's 2008 pitching lineup and rotation
Most spots on the Tigers' 25-man roster seem solidified as spring training nears. Still, the precise makeup of the bench and bullpen is uncertain. Free Press sports writer Jon Paul Morosi examines the dynamics at work as club officials shape the roster: • Even after an impressive performance last year, Ryan Raburn is not assured of an Opening Day roster spot. The team is expected to carry four bench players, and Vance Wilson, Ramon Santiago, Brandon Inge and Marcus Thames are strong candidates for those spots. A job would open if Wilson does not recover from elbow surgery, or if the club trades Inge or Thames. Raburn has a minor league option remaining, so he could be sent to Triple-A Toledo without clearing waivers. .

Caught in the Act!
As their budding soccer star had a field day, Brad Pitt took son Pax, 4, to scope out backpacks. Pitt showed his son how to affix a water bottle to the bag as Pax tried one out for size. Later, the family reunited and continued browsing in the store. Several days later, Pitt, in a grey fisherman cap, was spotted doing some business at West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont. The actor met over glasses of Perrier with his associates for just over an hour. Miley Cyrus, visiting young patients at Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas after performing at the MGM Grand. During her time at the hospital, the teen sensation gladly posed for photos and signed autographs. Also in Vegas: John Mayer, partying with a large group of friends at Tryst. The singer was spotted dancing around and shaking hands with guests.
Stop Chasing High-Tech Cheaters
Opening up The New York Times last week, I stumbled across an article that outraged me. "Colleges Chase as Cheats Shift to Higher Tech" detailed the struggle of some academics against new, high-tech forms of "cheating" that are based in Internet use, iPods, cellphones, and PocketPCs. The tone of the article was one of dismay at the collapse of morality in education. As I watched the article climb the "most e-mailed list" on the Times Web site through the day, my outrage increased. .
(7) Rutgers at (2) Tennessee
Rutgers is trading in its trademark scarlet for hot pink uniforms and shoes with pink details as part of the "Think Pink" campaign aimed at raising breast cancer awareness. Tennessee men's coach Bruce Pearl has hinted he may show up for the game in head-to-toe pink, too. Summitt said she's excited about supporting the campaign, but won't be taking it that far. "A suit with a pinstripe that's pink," she said. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report. .
